Board certified in pediatric hematology/oncology by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. J. Daniel Ozeran joined Valley Children’s in August 2005 as a pediatric hematologist/oncologist. Dr. Ozeran has a special interest in cellular therapeutics and providing care for patients requiring stem cell transplants.

Prior to joining Valley Children’s, Dr. Ozeran was a clinical instructor in the department of pediatrics, division of pediatric hematology and oncology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and the Mattel Children’s Hospital at UCLA. During this time he received additional training through the Human and Molecular Development Training Program at David Geffen School of Medicine and Mattel Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Ozeran has published in several peer-reviewed publications including the American Journal of Medical Genetics. Dr. Ozeran is also an assistant clinical professor in the University of California, San Francisco-Fresno Department of Pediatrics. He serves as our hematology/oncology academic medical director for the UCSF-Fresno Pediatric Residency Program.

Receiving his medical degree from the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine, Dr. Ozeran completed his internship and residency training in pediatrics at Los Angeles County Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He did a fellowship in pediatric hematology and oncology at Mattel Children’s Hospital at UCLA where his research focus was gene expression in the Ewing's sarcoma family of tumors.

Dr. Ozeran also holds master’s and doctoral degrees in biochemistry and molecular biology. His dissertation reported on the “Identification and Characterization of a PAPS Translocase from Rat Liver Golgi.”
