The President's Fund

About The President’s Fund

The President’s Fund was designed to help Valley Children’s continue its legacies of innovation and community support. These legacies extend back to our organization’s beginnings when our five founding mothers raised funds to fulfill the great need of building a hospital dedicated to the children of the Valley. Bound by their shared dedication to Valley Children’s mission, President’s Fund members are a diverse group of community leaders that assist organizational leadership in achieving our vision to provide the nation’s best healthcare for kids.

Your Investment

A $10,000 President’s Fund annual membership supports three critical needs at Valley Children’s: the Children’s Fund, employee-proposed innovation and The Claude and Betty Lou Laval Angel Fund.

Your Impact

The Children's Fund

The Children’s Fund directly supports the most immediate needs at Valley Children’s. Six years ago, bringing the organization’s access to care initiative to life was perhaps the most immediate need. In the past year, it has been addressing COVID-19. Facing a future filled with uncertainty, your contributions to the Children’s Fund will continue to be very important. President’s Fund members have provided more than $1 million in support to the Children’s Fund since the program’s inception in 2015.

Employee-Proposed Innovation

Employee-proposed innovation affords Valley Children’s physicians and employees the opportunity to submit funding applications for consideration that feature innovative ideas for operational improvements. In The President’s Fund’s first six years, 60 employee-proposed projects were funded, ranging from innovative ideas that have positively impacted clinical operations to heart-warming efforts to improve the patient experience. The Claude and Betty Lou Laval Angel Fund

The Claude and Betty Lou Laval Angel Fund directly supports patients and families to meet their financial needs during their hour of greatest need. The intent of The Claude and Betty Lou Laval Angel Fund is to allow families to focus on supporting their children through the medical treatment process by easing some of the financial challenges that a family may incur. The Claude and Betty Lou Laval Angel Fund assists with transportation expenses, temporary lodging or housing assistance, utilities, and other necessities upon the recommendation of a licensed clinical social worker. The Claude and Betty Lou Laval Angel Fund has provided resources to assist more than 800 families in the last six years.

"The [Claude and Betty Lou Laval Angel Fund] took away that burden and set my mind free to care for my daughter."
