Why did you choose Valley Children's Pediatric Residency Program?
I chose Valley Children's Residency Program for a variety of reasons: I grew up in nearby Sacramento and worked in the Bay Area, so my friends and family are close. The Central Valley has a special place in my heart and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve the families of this underrated part of California alongside a group of dedicated, knowledgeable, and caring physicians.

Hobbies: My hobbies include: playing sports, listening to music and podcasts, watching plays and musicals, reading and writing, going on hikes and bike rides, being out in nature, participating in trivia nights, singing my heart out in karaoke sessions, and most importantly, hanging out with my nieces and nephews.

Advocacy and Research Interests and Accomplishments: I was an elementary school teacher in my previous career and helped families develop strategies to build resilient children. I am also working to earn my Masters degree in public health, seeking to gain experience in collaborating with community-wide programs to engage in preventive care. My practicum project involves connecting families of children with type 1 diabetes with community resources to reduce gaps in health disparity.

Care Philosophy: Every child deserves to grow up in an environment that gives them the best chance to thrive, and every family should have access to resources that will allow them to nourish a culture of care for all members.
